6 minutes ago I was on FB and saw a “famous coach” saying in one FB ad:
“Everyone should be a coach!”
And then he went on talking about why this entire humanity needs more & more coaches and why people are not getting enough food because there are not enough coaches and blah blah blah.
Anyways. After controlling my laughter, I sat down to write this email.
Look.
I don’t want to win any popularity contest, so I will be BLUNT.
99% of professionals can NEVER be coaches/mentors.
Why?
Because they haven’t e-a-r-n-e-d the right to help others when they themselves are NOT living a great life.
Just because you joined a program and just because your cousin brother’s wife says that you’re the “most positive person” she’s met, doesn’t mean that the world will REWARD you for being a leadership/executive coach.
We are living in a “PANDEMIC OF MEDIOCRITY.” Most professionals (in any industry) are average or just above average with the illusion that just because they read Stephen Covey books & watch Sadhguru videos...they’re world-class!
Wake up!
Not everyone should be a coach.
Not everyone should be a doctor.
Not everyone should be a singer.
Not everyone should be...in any specific profession.
And that’s why you see it all the time now:
People posting all day long on social media.
Shouting from the top of their voice.
“Digital coaching.”
“Videos- make more videos.”
“Transform m-i-l-l-i-o-n-s- of people in next 24 hours!”
They’re busy CHASING YOU. And others like you.
Constantly.
Be careful.
For hundreds of people who email me asking:
“Sir how do I start my journey as a professional speaker or leadership coach?”
I always tell them ONE thing:
Don't be a professional who is looking for clients. Become an authority that your clients are looking for.
Bam!
Let’s end on that.
